Spectacular 60 km trek through the Peruvian Andes. The trek leads us to the last refuge of the Incas from where they offered resistance against the conquerors. Choquekirao is located at 3100m. It's a huge archaeological complex still undergoing restoration. To get there we will trek through the deep Apurimac Canyon home to a great variety of native flora and fauna.

DAY 1: Cusco - Cachora - Playa Rosalina (2750m).
Early in the morning we pick you up from your hotel in our private bus and drive west of Cusco passing by picturesque towns like: Izcuchaca, Limatambo, Curahuasi, etc. After 3 hours of traveling we will arrive in Cachora Town. Here our horses and muleteers are waiting ready to start the trek. At the beginning we will go to the first pass named Capuliyoc (2750m). Here we will be rewarded with beautiful mountain scenery and the Apurimac Canyon through which the Apurimac River (Speaker God River) flows. Then we will have a long descent to the campsite at playa Rosalina (1550m). Today we will walk for approximately 7n hours .

We leave our campsite at 06:00 to cross the Apurimac River. We will climb switchback trails to Santa Rosa (2100m). This climb will take approximately two hours. Afterwards we will climb slowly for another two hours until we reach our lunch spot at Marampata. From here we will walk another two hours to reach the Choquekirao Archaeological Complex. We will camp there enjoying some free time to explore the Inca terraces, buildings and to watch the sunset.
