This tour is perfect for trekkers who don’t want to spend much time in the mountains but still want to feel the charm of trekking through the rainforests and the energetic mountain scenery. On this trek you will see variable landscape and diverse ecological lines where a large quantity of birds and hummingbirds live. Also we will see the beautiful vegetation with lovely flowers and orchids.
ITINERARY:
DAY 1: Cusco - Wiñayhuayna - Aguas Calientes.
At 05:30 we pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the train station for a 3 1/2 hour train ride to Chachabamba (km 104 the starting point of the trek) and walk for 6 hours covering 13 km. The trail initially crosses the river by a suspension bridge and then Chachabamba suddenly appears (beautiful Inca temple). Afterwards the trail climbs gently up to Wiñayhuayna(another lovely Inca temple with great Incan terraces).
After your lunch you will climb up the Incan steps to the Sun Gate in order to see the sun set at Machupicchu. From the Sun Gate the trail descends gently to Machupicchu. Later the bus will take you down to Aguas Calientes town where you will have accommodations in a hotel. In the evening you can bathe in the natural hot springs and relax.
DAY 2: Aguas Calientes - Machupicchu – Cusco. Today will be dedicated to exploring this extraordinary Inca treasure. Early in the morning we will take the first bus to see the sunrise at Machupicchu Archaeological Site. Our expert Guide will take you on a relaxing tour before other groups arrive at noon. Later in the afternoon we’ll take the train back to Cusco arriving there in the evening and you will be transferred to your hotel.
It’s recommended to book the tour “inka trail” in advance, before booking flight tickets and hotels, because there are limited spots to reservation for Inka trail at INC and PERU RAIL (train Tickets).
