This is an amazing tour that will contact you with nature, wild animals and spectacular flora and fauna in the virgin jungle.

Puerto Maldonado Airport – Monkey Island – Lodge.
 We will pick you up at the airport and bring you to the dock where we board our boat and set forth upon an unforgettable journey down the Madre de Dios River. During the trip we travel into the heart of the rainforest and we will be able to observe clouds of butterflies, typical Amazon communities, flocks of exotic birds, Capybaras Turtles and Caymans (New World Crocodile). At the lodge we receive a briefing, reception and accommodations. We will go on an educational walk to learn about the rainforest ecosystems and see some of the amazing trees.

Then we will visit Monkey Island (Isla de los Monos) which is only five minutes from the Lodge. This island hosts a variety of species of monkeys: These range from the noisy ones such as the Spider Monkeys, the happy Nasua, the very impressive Squirrel Monkey, to the tiny and funny Little Lions (Leoncito). The trip to the island includes very beautiful sightseeing of the local landscape as well as the flora and fauna. To top it all off we will see a breathtaking and sublime jungle sunset.

Lodge – Lost Lake -Lodge.
After breakfast we will enjoy an adventure through the virgin jungle to the Lost Cocha (cocha perdida) led by our professional guide.  This site is a unique protected Ecosystem Refuge and feeding ground for a diversity of jungle fauna including Nutria and Otters, Caymans, Turtles, Amazonian Tapir and the majestic Jaguar.

You will see many birds of striking plumage as well as an ample variety of species of fish. This area is unique and distinctively particular to the Eco Amazonian Reserve by virtue of having remained altogether unaltered and conveniently surrounded by large swamps and wetlands. One of the highlights of today’s tour is the ascent to the Amazonian overlook built above the treetops in the Amazonian forest. From the revered Diptrax Tree (a relative of the Mimosa and Copaiba family) we can admire the great and magical jungle. This is complemented by a pleasant canoe tour around the lake after which we return to the Lodge to have lunch.  In the course of the afternoon we will have an optional visit to a local family, botanical gardens and eco-swimming pool. Later we will return to the Lodge for a delicious dinner.
